We are beginning to make plans for our Big Bend trip for
April 7-11, 2014. This is an amazing trip, and requires the work
of all attending to help make this a life changing experience for
our students. We need to get an idea of how many parents are
interested in going to Big Bend with the seventh graders and
several wonderful teachers. There are a limited number of spots
for us to take parents with us on this trip. If more parents are
interested in going than we can accommodate we will have to have
a drawing to fill these spots. If you express interest in going
on the trip and your name is not drawn, we do ask that you not
make arrangements to go to Big Bend during this week and camp on
your own. This has happened in the past and has the potential to
destroy what our goal is for the week for our kids.
Below are some things to consider if you are interested in
signing up to go on the trip:
1) While at Big Bend we will be camping out in tents (no
showers) for five days and four nights.
2) Parents are expected to go on all of the hikes. We
will be doing 6 hikes during the week. The
shortest hike is about ¼ of mile and the longest
is 13 miles.
3) Parents are expected to help prepare meals, cook, and
clean cooking utensils.
4) Parents are expected to invest in the lives’ of the
students during this week.
5) It is important that we have the cooperation of all
parents that go on this trip to make it successful
for our students.
Please return this form to Mrs. Chambers by Thursday, December
5th. If you have any questions about this trip, please contact
